iRacing Configuration (OSP Per Gear)
« on: July 31, 2026, 08:59:22 PM »
Greetings,

Just switched over to the new software after being a long time subscriber to Ledsmaster and its predecessor, and have run an SLI-Pro setup for many years.

I have a question about cars with different redlines depending on the gear, specifically the 992.2 Cup. My understanding is that the software should be able to read the shift points from iRacing SDK for each specific car and display them appropriately. What are the proper settings in the new software to enable this functionality?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi,

Currently, shift points are handled manually. For a car like the 992.2 Cup, the best way is to create a specific iRacing Game Profile for that car and enable "Optimal Shift-points Factors Match Gear Ratio Allowed." This lets you set a unique shift point for every gear. Go ontrack and manually sync the blink of the car's dashboard with the blink of the SLI-Pro for each gear (starting from 2nd gear, as 1st usually isn't needed for shift points). It takes a bit of patience, but it's the most accurate way.
Also, keep in mind that the "perfect" shift point is often a mix of engineering and driver feeling. The graphics on the HUD are based on theory and computation, but depending on how you hear the engine and how you want the car to behave, you might find a point that feels better than what the screen suggests.
Regarding the "Auto" mode: that's a great idea. I've added it to my todo list to improve the iRacing plugin in the future. Just keep in mind that OpenSR is still in Early Access and there is a lot to do before 1.0, so some things might still be bugged... including the per-gear shift points! :)

Feel free to test this feature and tell us if it works for you.

Thanks for the suggestion.

iRacing published correct RPM for each gear in the 992.2, is it possible to enter this manually?

Hi,

Too good to not be in OpenSR :), so I made the change quickly to allow what you asked for in the latest v0.4.1.0. This is now available for all supported devices. auto blink untested.

Auto Blink OSP: Automatic blinking feedback for optimal shift points (currently supported in iRacing).
Per-Gear RPM Thresholds: You can now set individual RPM shift-point values for each gear instead of using a global factor.

Run "Check for Updates" in the dashboard.
Select your device, go to Game Profiles, and choose your game.
Create a New game profile
(IMPORTANT: default profile is still based on the old profile template without the options, must be deleted to be recreated with the new additions).
Fill in the new options under the Shift Points section.
Save and then LOAD the profile to activate it.

Enjoy!

In regards to the REV numbers, is there a file somewhere that can be manually edited, instead of using graphical sliders?

Thanks!

Hi,
Yes, of course. You can edit these manually if you prefer. Just go to your Documents folder, navigate to OpenSR/Profiles, open the folder for your target device (e.g., SLIPRODevicePlugin/), then the target game folder (e.g., iRacingPlugin/), and you can edit your game profile there. I strongly recommend using Notepad++ for this.

note: a simple CTRL + Click on the game profile name in the dropdown menu opens the folder. ;)

That said, the sliders are actually very convenient once you know the shortcuts (I haven't had time to create the official documentation for this yet). If you look at the button bar at the top of the image, you can load and save presets (current values are saved as a preset), but you can also move the values quickly using modifiers:

Buttons + / -: Move all sliders by 1
SHIFT + Buttons: Move all sliders by 10
CTRL + Buttons: Move all sliders by 100
ALT + Buttons: Move all sliders by 1000
Arrow Keys (Up/Down): Fine-tune the currently selected value
TAB: Jump from slider to slider

it's usually much faster (and safer) than opening the xml file to edit values manually.
